Pie charts show composition — one whole, carved into wedges, each slice sized to its share. At a glance the eye picks up who owns the biggest piece and whether the split is close or lopsided.

Every preset here renders as a complete image — Margherita slices, agate slabs, petri-dish rings, watercolor washes — not a default donut with a color palette. Reach for a pie chart when the question isn't "how much" but "what share of the whole," and keep to a handful of slices so the read stays honest.
